What Is
GPU Gold LLC?

GPU Gold LLC is a business entity registered in New Jersey and linked to Justin Thomas Howarth of the Columbus, NJ area. The entity has been associated with cryptocurrency mining hardware sales and mining farm investment operations that defrauded multiple victims of significant sums of money.

Victims report that GPU Gold LLC was presented as a legitimate operation involved in sourcing and hosting cryptocurrency mining hardware. Payments were collected for mining equipment purchases and mining farm investments, with promises of returns from hosted mining operations.

The mining hardware was never delivered. The mining farm returns never materialized. When victims pressed for answers, they were given escalating excuses before being blocked entirely.

Method

How the Scam
Operated

The scheme operated through a combination of personal relationship-building and a technically plausible investment premise. Justin Thomas Howarth, the individual linked to GPU Gold LLC, conducted FaceTime video calls with victims, used his own registered phone number, and shared identity documents to establish trust.

Victims were shown photographs of mining hardware from Letine, a real mining equipment manufacturer, along with images of the purported mining farm. These materials were used to create the impression of a genuine, operational mining business. Letine has since identified that their brand was being used fraudulently.

Payments were requested via Bitcoin, PayPal, Western Union, and credit card. Cryptocurrency wallet addresses changed frequently, with shifting justifications including compliance requirements, technical issues, and new partnership structures.

A single documented victim lost approximately $430,000 over 22 months. Hundreds of additional victims have been identified. The fraud spans jurisdictions across the United States and Australia.
